Hello,
Today, Im going to talk to you about Moscow City
Day on the 1st Sunday in September. Its a tradi
tion in Russia to celebrate city/town days in dif
ferent parts of the country. Days before, the
whole city makes preparations. People decorate
streets with colourful decorations and flags. On
the City Day, there are parades and concerts in
many parks and squares. In the evening we often
watch great firework displays. Everyone is always

Maslyanitsa is a type of traditional Russian carni
val. During this week of celebrations, people cook
pancakes and wear funny masks and costumes. In
some areas, they burn a big doll made of straw.
In this way, they say goodbye to the winter.
Every summer, from June until July, the sun does
not set completely and a silver glow fills the sky.
A lot of tourists visit the city to enjoy this amaz
ing sight and celebrate with the locals. At night,
people sing and dance and watch the fireworks
in the sky.
This is a picture of St Petersburg during the
White Nights. The sky is white because the sun
doesn't set completely. I am walking down the
street, looking at the beautiful sky. I am taking
pictures of the wonderful buildings and the fire

works in the silver sky. I am singing and danc
ing with the locals by the Neva River.
